I've discovered something new!

I should have known something was brewing in my brain when I bought these:

All for 1/2 price

More Perle Cottons

Then these:

But, until I made this:

Mini Art Quilt #1

I had no idea how I would love this new art form. Naturally, I couldn't stop at one so this was the next in line:

Mini Art Quilt #2 or "Knots on Green"

And believe it or not, it took me close to 4 days just to put all those crazy knots on that goofy thing!! I never thought I'd be done and wondered for awhile what I had gotten myself into. Of course, I didn't stop there.......but #3 I can't show you! I just mailed it off yesterday. (Swap partner...are you reading this???) I hope you like it!!! #4 though is my favorite so far and I also have a close-up of it in process:

And then finished:

Buttons & Blooms - Mini Art Quilt #4

So.....in light of this new love of mine, I thought I should have a give-away. Sound good? Did you see the middle book in the picture with all the books? "Pretty Little Mini Quilts"? Want it? Tell me why.......and please don't forget to leave your e-mail address so I can contact you if you win. Good luck!

OK, I know the first comment never wins but I will give it a shot anyway! I would love the book because I too just discovered mini quilts and joined up for the April swap. I have always loved miniature--I have a dollhouse that I make things for even. I love your work so far!

I would love to win the book. I stay with my mother due to her health problems. It is very difficult to work on large quilts at her home. May be the little quilts would keep my hands and mind busy. Your quilts are really beautiful. Thanks for all of the inspiration. Bonnie in Iowa

Oh wow, what gorgeous mini quilts! I love the detail in the last one, especially the wee buttons!

I'd love to win a book that helps me make quilts like that. I'm working on a Dear Jane quilt at the moment which is so completely at the opposite end of the spectrum - all fixed block patterns and complex, fiddly piecing. Boy would the mini quilts book take me out my comfort zone! But it would be fun :)

I just started quilting in June 2009 after my mother-in-law came and made a classroom quilt with my 4th grade class. I currently just finished quilt #19 but have started thinking about some smaller projects. I would love to have the book - I want to try some wall hangings that I can work on a little at a time when I get home from work. After being with thirty 9-year-olds all day, sometimes I need some ME time!!!

Of course I want it, because you've got me hooked on swapping and I need all the inspiration I can get!! BUT, I want your art mini #4 MORE. Like, BAD! It is stunning and so perfect in every way. Beautiful work Carol. The aqua wavy piecing, lazy daisies, french knots, the buttons, the checkerboard binding. AAAAaaaaaah! It takes me right back to my vacation in Barbados last November. I can almost hear the waves....

btw, my tree skirt pattern arrived today!!! Faith in postal service renewed.
