Mindless Monday

Maybe it's too long of a winter, or maybe it's because a dear friend of mine died last week, but I have nothing to show you, I'm afraid.  My friend, although up in years, was one of my best critics and I will miss her terribly.  I took everything I made to show to her because she insisted that I was sewing through her since she couldn't anymore.  It's almost like I lost my mother twice.  She only had sons, so we were close. I'm hoping this passes because I am bored to death and I know she wouldn't want me to stop sewing out of grief.   I am forming a plan, but it's quite mindless. Hopefully, it will put me in the sewing mood again.  So, my friends, if I am gone for a few weeks, please bear with me.  I'll be back......with stuff for some swaps I joined.

dearest carol

My very best friend in life died recently - a loss and hole in my life that I shall never fill, at my age. My thoughts are with you, more than I can say. Remember all the fun and laughs that you share together -

Carol,
I'm so sorry about your friend. I hope you start feeling back to your old self soon. I know it's hard.

She of all people would want you to keep doing what usually makes you happiest, Carol. Give yourself some time to grieve and accept the new reality. I think you'll be back at the machine soon, it's in your nature.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your dear friend, Carol. You've also just come off an incredible burst of creativity with all of the doll quilts, so it does seem like a good time to pause and reflect. Take care and be well.

Dear Carol,

I just discovered your wonderful blog and your absolutely adorable quilts!

I can understand, why you´re not in the mood for sewing - we´ve lost my sister-in-law all of a sudden and she was only 44 years old. It took the whole family into a deep black hole and we are trying to get out of it. But as it´s said "time will heal"- just give yourself time to mourn and after a while you will see, that you can think about your dearest friend with a smile instead of tears. And if you can start a new project then, maybe there will be her voice and you know, what she was going to say about your work instinctively.
